AGNITiO and Nok Nok Labs launch FIDO-ready voice products

Agnitio and Nok Nok hope to offer a seamless password replacement experience for users wanting to log in using their voice as an authentication measure

AGNITiO, a provider of biometric authentication solutions based on the human voice, and Nok Nok Labs, a company focused on transforming online authentication, have launched a range of FIDO-Ready products with the Universal Authentication Framework (UAF) protocol.

The FIDO UAF specification is defined by the FIDO Alliance as delivering a “passwordless” experience, where a user is able to use a form of biometric authentication on their local device, like voice, fingerprint or facial recognition to securely log in and perform a transaction. Once a user is registered, they simply repeat the local authentication action whenever they need to authenticate to a specific service, without the need to enter a password. FIDO UAF also allows for multi-factor authentication, where multiple authentication methods, such as a voiceprint and finger swipe, are used together to increase security.

The companies said that AGNITiO's Voice iD and the NNL S3 Authentication Suite are now ready to be integrated into a mobile application to perform voiceprint-based strong authentication. This combination allows users of online, mobile, and point-of-sale applications to access sites and services, and perform transactions that are more secure, private, and easier-to-use than passwords.
