Samsung Electronics today announced that its digital wallet, Samsung Pay, is now available to The Co-operative Bank cardholders in the UK.

Samsung Pay enables users to make purchases using their smartphones, while Galaxy Note8, S8 or S8+ users can take advantage of the iris scanner technology to authorise payments, providing a new level of biometric security to ensure peace of mind.

The Co-operative Bank join a portfolio of major payment networks and banks which Samsung Pay supports in the UK, including Mastercard and Visa, as well as cards issued by first direct, HSBC, M&S Bank, MBNA, Nationwide and Santander.

Samsung Pay is designed to make paying with your device safe, simple and convenient.

Samsung has also worked with TfL on exclusive functionality for Samsung Pay that allows users to set a payment card up as a ‘transport card’ to use on all TfL services and most National Rail services in London, allowing them to simply tap their phone against the card reader, eliminating the need to wake their phone or verify with a fingerprint or passcode.
