Applied Recognition announced today that its Ver-ID Person technology has been selected by Paychex to add face recognition technology to the company’s time & attendance portfolio.

“By offering face recognition as an option to clock employees in and out, Paychex is deepening its position as a market and technology leader,” observed Sean O’Leary, ARI’s VP of Corporate Development.  “The use of face recognition for T&A offers employers many benefits, perhaps the most notable being the elimination of the potential for fraud arising from so-called ‘buddy punching.’   Moving to face-powered biometrics also means that there’s nothing for an employee to forget or to misplace, lowering administrative costs and avoiding substantial lost time.”

“ARI’s face recognition technology is a critical enabler for those clients utilizing the tablet kiosk option for Paychex Flex Time,” said Tom Hammond, vice president of corporate strategy and product management at Paychex.

“In today’s environment, accuracy and security are a prerequisite for any technology solution. What made ARI’s technology an easy choice for Paychex is the flexibility it offers our clients. Our client base runs the gamut – from mom-and-pop bakeries to 2,000-employee hospitals – and it’s important we give them choice in how they conduct their business. Many employers today would prefer not to have a bulky time clock hanging on the wall and instead prefer the ease of employees clocking in and out via tablet. Our work with ARI has enabled us to take that one step further, allowing for multiple employees to clock in and out on the same device using the latest facial recognition technology. This approach helps our clients increase accuracy and security and improves the employee experience.”
